FEATURES OF THE BOATING LIFESTYLE
AT THE BOAT SHOW

“The Improve Your Catch Series”
Bass, Muskie & Pike, Panfish, Salmon & Trout, Walleye

The Ultimate Fishing Seminar Line-up – This year the Milwaukee Boat Show is getting right down to basics. Each Saturday and Sunday, Dan Small of Outdoors Wisconsin will host presentations by the best presenters we can find on the 5 most popular game fish categories in Wisconsin.

Special notice: the first 400 attendees at these seminars will be presented with a special commemorative ”2009 Milwaukee Boat Show” Dare-devle spoon, with a retail value of $4.95 and is of collectable caliber.

Our Host

Dan Small - Dan is celebrating 25 years as the Host of "Outdoor Wisconsin" on PBS TV this year. Universally recognized as the flagship of Sportsman's programming in the Badger State, this Thursday night tradition and Dan's personable and inquisitive style are classic. We are very pleased to carry on the Boat Show tradition of Dan hosting our Fishing Seminar Stage.

Walleye Specialist

Jim O’Brien – Jim operates Dancing with Walleyes Fishing Guide Service in Southeast Wisconsin. Jim also competes in several Walleye tournaments each year with his two best partners, his sons, Jimmy and Chris. “There is no better feeling than walking across the stage with your sons collecting several top 10 finishes and Father / Son team of the year awards.” Jim takes great pride in passing on fishing skills learned to anglers young and old. He is a Certified Instructor, Outdoor Writer and a presenter of many fishing seminars throughout the year.

Panfish and Bass Specialist

Tom Newbauer – Tom is celebrating his 25th anniversary as the Fishing Educator of the PBS TV show Outdoor Wisconsin. Few Sportsmen in Wisconsin are not familiar with the expertise that Tom Newbauer is generous to share, whether it is over the air waves or up close and personal on the seminar stage. Tom will present tips on improving your catch in 2 categories. Covering both Smallmouth and Largemouth in Wisconsin Waters will be his first presentation, and a subject he is famous for. When offered the roll of sharing tips on Panfish he jumped at it. Whether it is Crappie, Sunfish, Bluegills or Perch, this category may appeal to the largest group of anglers and Tom knows it. We know he will pack the house for this one.

Salmon & Trout Specialist

Jason Woda – Jason has been fishing the Great Lakes for over 20 years and guiding for almost 10. Specializing in the waters off Milwaukee, Jason has found the most productive waters nearby throughout the year. Starting at New Years, Jason finds the open water for excellent fishing for Browns thru the winter. ….shifting to Winthrop harbor for incredible Coho action April thru June. Chinook are “King” thru September with some Steelies tossed in for the acrobatics. No serious off shore troller will want to miss the experience that Jason shares on the seminar stage.

Muskie & Pike

Steve Miljat – One of Wisconsin’s most respected guides and wildlife artists will give seminars on both weekends of the Boat Show. Steve will share his knowledge regarding the Muskies of Pewaukee Lake and the many other locations where he has had famed success: Lake Vermillion in Minnesota and Big Bay de Noc in Northern Lake Michigan to name a couple.

Special Guest

Babe Winkleman – Sunday, January 25th only – special appearance presented by Evinrude. Come meet Babe Winkelman and learn about the latest in Evinrude technology. Babe launched the ever popular “Good Fishing” TV series in 1985 and quickly became one of the nations foremost Outdoors Specialists.
