The mayor and Mr. Gamble will also announce details of a Rain Barrel Sale to be held in May by the Public Service Department as part of the city’s Go Green! Initiative.

Starting on the Lansing Home & Garden Show’s opening day, Thursday, March 19th and continuing through Sunday, March 22nd, the City of Lansing will be on site at the Show collecting the following recyclable items:

  • Cell phones

Thursday at the Lansing Home & Garden Show is “Eco Day”, and the first 100 visitors will receive a CFL (compact fluorescent light) bulb.  CFLs are money-saving green alternatives to standard incandescent bulbs.
