NOVI BACKYARD, POOL & SPA SHOW
MAKES A SPLASH
AT ROCK FINANCIAL SHOWPLACE
NOVI, MI – March 27, 2009 – Vacationing at home is the focus of this year’s Novi Backyard, Pool & Spa Show, March 27 – 29 at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi.
“Everything you need to turn your backyard into a vacation destination is available at our show,” said Mike Wilbraham, show producer of ShowSpan, Inc. “It’s about creating the perfect setting for families and friends to get together and give rise to great memories and enjoyable times.”
Attendees will see a dream backyard designed around a free form full-size fiberglass pool filled with water from Midwest Pools, Inc. of Grand Blanc. They will also have on display vinyl and gunite inground pools. In addition, they will have, heated and in operation, an above ground swim spa that has an adjustable speed swim lane for exercise and fitness and a spa area for therapy and family fun. The landscaping will be designed and installed by Greg Davis Landscape Services of Livonia.
AZ Pools, Spas and Landscape of Ann Arbor, a design and build specialist in the complete backyard package including outdoor kitchens, will share their experience in custom inground pools of gunite, fiberglass and steel wall vinyl liner construction and landscaping. They also offer a Build Your Own Backyard Pool program for the do-it-yourself market.
How a vinyl pool is constructed will be on exhibit from Lakeside Pools and Concrete of Farmington Hills. Their fiberglass and gunite pools will be featured among the referrals and photographs from 25 years in business. Pound Pool Plastering of Brighton will exhibit pool and spa renovations and resurfacing.
Several landscaping companies will create landscape displays for homeowners to visualize in their backyard. T.Y.M.E. Landscaping of Livonia will include a fire pit surrounded by outdoor seating. They design and install new or renovate existing outdoor living environments that include lighting, pottery fountains, ponds and pondless water features.
A backyard paradise with a natural water feature, patio, outdoor cooking area and seating wall will be built by Guzman Landscape and Associates of Northville. They specialize in all aspects of landscape installation including ponds, streams and retaining walls. Garden Innovations of Commerce Township will craft a wood-burning outdoor fireplace waterfall and stone pillars fitted with low voltage lights in glass blocks to emphasize their design, consultation and project management capabilities.
A backyard oasis to enhance the beauty and value of a home will be assembled by Souillere Yard Care and Landscaping of Romeo. They offer complete landscape design including brick pavers, flagstones, bluestone, boulder and block retaining walls, masonry, waterfalls, fountains and outdoor kitchens.
Dining and deep seating patio furniture with choices of upholstery and finishes will be set up at the Allstate Billiards, Patio, Hot Tubs, Pools and Fireplace of Ann Arbor, Livonia and Novi display. Above ground pools, pool table, free-standing wood and gas stoves for sunrooms and a variety of hot tubs with seating, jets and cabinet finish choices.
Hot tubs from standard to luxury styles complete with waterfalls and foot and neck jets will be displayed at the Lifestyles Hot Tubs of Ann Arbor, Burton, Fenton, Flint, Lansing, Novi, Rochester Hills, Saginaw and Utica exhibit.
Tradewinds Spas of Novi and Utica will feature enclosures and gazeboes for their two to eight person spas, traditional and infrared indoor and outdoor saunas, custom wood and maintenance-free decks and brick and stone patios.
The outdoor multipurpose sports flooring for backyard and indoor home gyms will be ready for playtime at the Sport Court of Michigan in Lake Orion exhibit. The maintenance-free flooring provides cushion from the concrete for a family-oriented activity area and fun group sports. They also will display their basketball hoops, court lighting and sports netting.
Other exhibits at the show will display products and services from the major outdoor living environment categories including inground and aboveground pools, spas, hot tub, swim spas, decks, patios, fencing, outdoor living spaces, patio furniture, outdoor court systems, patio enclosures, sunrooms and accessories.
Experts are available with tips and advice on purchasing, planning, maintenance, safety, exercise, health, financing and landscaping. Homeowners can get the information they need about buying a pool or spa at show exhibits.

Rock Financial Showplace is located at 46100 Grand River Avenue between Novi and Beck Road in Novi. Show hours are from 3 – 9:30 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday.
